Douglas J. Suits Raised in Arizona since 1971, Douglas J. Suits ("Doug") grew up in Scottsdale and graduated from Arizona State University before moving to San Diego to attend California Western School of Law. Doug graduated in 1994 having been an Associate Editor of the Law Review, and a member of several highly competitive trial teams. Doug was admitted to the California State Bar in December, 1995, and to the Arizona State Bar in April, 1998.

Hired directly out of law school by the San Diego Superior Court, Doug initially practiced as a research attorney for 2½ years before moving into private practice with a large San Diego firm. For five years, Doug practiced complex civil litigation with an emphasis on design professional representation (engineers, architects, etc.) against construction defect and negligence claims. As a litigation associate, Doug was directly responsible for successfully defending several multi-million dollar, complex litigation claims.

In July, 2002, Doug moved his wife and daughter back to Arizona, settling in Prescott where he opened The Law Office of Douglas J. Suits (now, Suits Law Firm, PLC). Additionally, Doug has taught legal education classes for the paralegal program at Yavapai College. He is currently the President of the Yavapai County Bar Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Community Legal Services and Prescott Area Habitat for Humanity.

Doug is currently licensed to practice in Arizona and California, and is authorized to practice in all State Courts within Arizona and California, and before the Federal District Courts in Arizona and Southern California, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a Certified Mediator and part-time Arbiter for the Yavapai County Superior Court.
 
Julie Schreiner Office Manager/Paralegal Julie Schreiner, has been employed as a paralegal in the Prescott area since July, 1999. She became a valued addition to Suits Law Firm, PLC in June, 2007. Julie is accomplished and well-versed in many areas of civil and commercial law. She thoroughly enjoys working with the firm’s clients and providing able assistance with respect to the wide variety of our clients’ legal matters. Outside of the office, Julie enjoys spending all of her free time with her husband and their two sons.

Appellate Practice - Includes preparation and presentation of civil appeals before both State and Federal Appellate Courts.

Civil/Commercial - Includes representation of diverse private and commercial parties Contract Disputes in a wide range of contractual disputes. Our focus is on resolving such disputes quickly and cost effectively.

Construction Defect - Includes representation of Homeowners and/or Contractors in all aspects of statutory and non-statutory construction defect claims, including pre-litigation demands under Arizona's "Purchaser Dwelling Act", and all aspects of mediation, arbitration and/or civil trial litigation.

Contractors - Includes representation of both Contractors (General and Subs) and/or Homeowners before the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) in administrative and contractual claims. We also represent design professionals (Engineers, Architects, etc.). against negligence and/or insurance claims.

HOA and POA - Includes representation of individual home/property owner and/or HOA/POA Boards involving land disputes, governance and election issues; Analysis and recommendations regarding governing documents (CC&Rs, By-Laws, Articles of Incorporation, Architectural and/or Landscaping Committee, etc.), as well as analysis and recommendations regarding Arizona statutory and common law as it relates to planned community establishment and ongoing governance.

Real Estate - Includes Homeowner and/or Broker/Agent representation in claims over real property sales contracts. Also property boundary claims, and use/ownership disputes such as easements and adverse possession claims.
